Summer is finally upon us! If you haven’t had the chance to register for our summer camps yet, don’t worry. We still have plenty of room for friends in each of the ten weeks of summer camp. Simply click on the button bellow to register for any and all of the days you’d like to join us for an incredible summer filled with swords, sorcery, and the great outdoors.
We’ll be sending out additional informational packets before the beginning of each week in order to ensure that students and guardians are ready to face the day! These packets will include a list of pick-up and drop off times and locations, required gear list, and other important information that you will need to read in order to help us ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Before summer camp can truly kick off, there are two weeks of after-school and special events that we have in store for everyone. While there isn’t much of it left, don’t forget to register for our after-school programs! If you haven’t had the chance yet, just click the button bellow to register for after-school programs (and maybe even summer camp while you’re at it).
Preparing for the Heat
Whether you’re signed up for after-school, summer camps, or both, your student(s) will need be to sure to have the right equipment with them each day to ensure that they have a safe and fun time with us. The following is a list of required equipment:
– Their backpack
– A refillable water bottle
– Weather-appropriate clothing
– Closed-toed and heeled shoes
– Lunch/snacks
– Sunscreen
PLEASE ENSURE YOUR STUDENT’S NAME IS PRINTED CLEARLY ON ALL THEIR ITEMS.
Those Early Release days really sneak up on you, and the next one is no exception, coming in on Tuesday, June 3rd!On this day, school lets out at 11:50am, meaning the Portland Outdoor Explorers will have an extended camp day from 11:50am to 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome to sign up, even if you are not a regular, or are not signed up for any other days that week. Click on the button bellow to register for the day (or more).
School officially gets out on June 12th, which is a Thursday. We’re just as excited to get a head start on summer, but for those who have one more day at the grindstone, the Portland Outdoor Explorers will be running an all-day camp on Friday, June 13th.Despite the timing, this will not be part of our summer programs, but we still anticipate an exciting day! Our next Guardians’ Night Off is Friday, June 20th, and it’s a special one as it will be one of three GNOs this year to be held outdoors! Sunset isn’t predicted until 9:03 that evening, but we’ll make use of lanterns, string lights, and glow sticks to illuminate our space and create a fun and fantastical atmosphere.
Dinner that evening will be determined by the number and the dietary restrictions of the kiddos.
We’ll have a glow stick dance party, glow stick keepy uppy, and more light-based games and activities. Click the button below to register your student(s) for this exciting event!
