The Portland Outdoor Explorers are so excited for the 2025-2026 school year that we can barely contain it! There are lots of new and exciting changes coming up and we’re here to tell you all about them:
1. We’ve added a third school to our pick-up line this year. Welcome all Scott Elementary School students! During this first week of after-school programming for Scott Elementary students, we’ll be meeting students at the front office while we establish our pick-up location (we don’t want to take up too much of the admin’s time).
Laura with be the lead instructor for Scott Elementary students. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out via text or email, and Laura will be able to coordinate with you ASAP!
2. We are looking to change our logo! This is something that we’ve been discussing for a LONG time, and we’re finally moving forward with several ideas. Once we’ve narrowed the list down to a handful of options, we’re going to present them to the friends and families of POE to vote on. We’ll still be the same, lovable trio of outdoorsy folk you know and love, but we’ll have a fresh new look we can all be excited about. Most of the new designs involve frogs, rather than a raven, and we’re excited about each and every one of them.
3. Once our new logo has been decided upon, we’ll be looking into getting the POEmobile wrapped to help us break up the plain white of the van. We’re hoping to make the van look more professional and inviting!
4. With our switch to Hi Sawyer for registration, we’re moving to a more digital format for our sign-in and sign-out process. Now, it’ll be done primarily from the mobile device of the lead instructor for your student’s school. When you pick your student up from camp, you may be asked to provide a digital signature.
With so many exciting changes ahead, we’re sure you’ll have lots of questions, and we’re here to answer each of them. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any concerns you may have.
Thank you all for sticking with us for another incredible year of after-school programming!!!
