Portland Outdoor Explorers started as a group of outdoor educators wanting to continue building connections we had made while teaching students in Northeast Portland with a previous group (now disbanded).
Since then, we have worked tirelessly to create a culture of trust, honesty, and sincerity with the communities we serve.

The Portland Metro Area is a childcare desert—there are not enough services to support the number of young families needing spaces for their children, and this hurts our communities. POE is here to meet that need while providing stellar child-led outdoor education.
