There’s not much to say this month other than that summer is here and we’re more excited than a toad in a rainstorm! Join us for our best summer yet!

If you haven’t had a chance to register for June after school programs, minimal as they are, it’s not too late! Click the link below to register for June afterschool programs and special events.

The weather is warming up now that summer is here. POE needs your explorer(s) to be prepared with the proper gear in order to provide a safe and fun experience for them each and every day. Remember…

We still ask that you equip your explorer(s) with weather-appropriate layers, and that all explorers have their own sunscreen. Optional sun-proof gear, such as hats and sunglasses, are also welcome! Speaking of sunglasses…

The Portland Outdoor Explorers is preparing for its best summer yet! We’ll have all the beloved tried and true activities explorers have come to love and expect, as well as plenty of new activity, equipment, and field trips ahead! As with all our no-school day camps, we ask that all explorers come equipped with the following required gear:

  • a backpack
  • a hearty lunch
  • snacks
  • extra snacks
  • a refillable water bottle
  • weather-appropriate layers
  • a change of clothes (just in case)
  • shoes with closed toes and heels

Upcoming Events

On Friday, June 19th, we’ll be enjoying our next Guardians’ Night Off with the exciting sequel to the Miles Morales saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse!

We’ll be providing a delicious dinner, desert, and snacks for our registered explorers, featuring some summer favorites.

GNO will be hosted at Rose City Park United Methodist Church from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Community Engagement

Portland Outdoor Explorers is collaborating with Everybody’s Bodyworks to offer an exclusive discount for the friends and family of POE. Andi Gherard specializes in massage therapy for injury recovery, chronic pain, and relaxation in this hectic world.

They provide gender affirming care and trauma informed massage for all healing bodies. They offer a fat positive and body neutral space for people to show up however they are.
Each treatment is designed specially to meet your needs whatever your goals are.

The treatment space offers gender neutral bathrooms.

Andi believes in giving immunocompromised people access to care and providing a safe relaxing session for all.

This business was created with the goal of making alterations and tailored pieces more openly available for fat, trans, and people of color.
