In previous summers, POE has been thrilled to provide fun and exciting field trips for our explorers to state and local parks. It gave us the chance to expand our explorers’ horizons and explore places they may not have otherwise had the chance to see. This year, we planned to do the same and even had a list of incredible local parks we wanted to visit prepared.
Unfortunately, we recently received information that would make it not only difficult but unsafe for us to provide these field trips for the time being.
As upsetting as we are certain this is for you, please know it is devastating for us.
We are, however, working diligently to address the concerns and ensure that field trips return under safe conditions (we would never allow our explorers to travel any other way).

We want to stress that this is a temporary pause and not a permanent end to our field trips.

There is only so much we are able to discuss openly, however, we understand the demand for answers.
What we can say is that the solution is within our grasp. We know exactly what needs to be done, it is simply a matter of doing it and working with the City of Portland and Portland Parks and Rec to get things moving again (literally and figuratively).

We plan to keep everyone apprised as we move forward and hope that this temporary pause will be a very short one.
